Justice Shahid Karim passed the orders against the petition as mentioned earlier to halt the cutting of trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nation.com.pk\/E-Paper\/lahore\/2021-04-03\/page-2\/detail-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The news source<\/a> further said that A counsel on behalf of the Judicial Water Commission apprised the court that the commission had filed a miscellaneous civil application to stop cutting trees in and around the Multan district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, he further mentioned media reports that the housing society did not seek any approval from environmental protection regarding the cutting of trees. He further expressed that the housing society uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sirmaya.com\/blog\/mango-orchards-being-cram-down-by-housing-societies-in-multan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">agricultural land for residential purposes<\/a> and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is silent on the matter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The petitioner further pleaded that authorities should allow the land only for mango trees plantation instead of housing societies. He also submitted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mda.gop.pk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multan Development Authority\u2019s (MDA)<\/a> master plan needs amendments regarding fertile lands which housing schemes are using for living purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, in his plea, he requested the court to stop cutting trees in Multan and other areas due to environmental sensitivity.
