Karachi:<\/strong> According to a news source, on Tuesday, CPEC Authority Chairman Lt. General (R) Asim Saleem Bajwa said that no power on earth could sabotage China Pakistan Economic Corridor<\/a> (CPEC). Further, he termed CPEC as a national project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

he said CPEC a flagship project of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative had improved the road connectivity between the two countries. And it would do so further. He was addressing the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, Bajwa said that one section Sukkur-Hyderabad was left that had already been launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan recently on the eastern alignment of CPEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, he said, \u201cNow our full focus is on western alignment,\u201d adding a motorway from Islamabad to Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) was at the final stage. While the DI Khan to Zhob motorway projects approved by the Chinese side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, he said that the groundwork on road from Zhob to Quetta also started. Whereas Quetta to Khuzdar, Khuzdar to Awaran and Hoshab, and Khuzdar-Basima roads were also under construction. And all of them connected with different areas of Balochistan and Sindh with Gwadar. Moreover, Bajwa said that the western alignment passed through remoter areas where there was extreme poverty. Further, the road projects under CPEC would improve connectivity and create new job opportunities for the people. He said this would bring prosperity to the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the CPEC Authority chairman said, \u201cWe are now moving beyond energy and road infrastructure to agriculture, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), tourism, science technology and information technology\u201d. In the agriculture sector, he said, \u201cWe are moving towards corporate farming and community farming for which we are working with the provinces.\u201d Similarly, in the industrialization sector Rashakai and Faisalabad, the work was in full swing. And several industries installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concerning the industrial development<\/a> under CPEC, Bajwa said keeping in view the rising interest of foreign investors in the Gwadar Free Zone. The government had decided to launch the second phase of the zone spanning over an area of 2,200 acres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
