LAHORE: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) is developing 51 urban forests in Miyawaki, Lahore to lessen the negative impacts of climate change.

PHA told the CEO that Prime Minister Imran Khan will host a ground-breaking ceremony for one of these parks.

The general director added that the Miyawaki Urban Forest will be built on over 153 Kanals of land and 160,000 seedlings will be planted. In addition, the Director said that work on six forests has been completed, and work on the development of 41 forests is underway. Work will begin soon in the remaining four forests.

The Miyawaki method was developed by the Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. This technology helps to develop dense forests 30 times and 10 times faster than conventional forests.
