Derawar Fort 

Located 130 km south of Bahawalpur, near the Shadab colony, this impressive fortress is worth a trip and a must-visit place. One can see forty forts for miles in the Cholistan Desert. It was originally a Rajput fortress built in the 9th century and has stood the test of time thanks to its thick walls, almost five-foot wide.

Noor Mahal

During British Raj, Noor Mahal belonged to the Nawab of the princely state of Bahawalpur during British rule. There are different stories about the construction of this palace. According to an ancient legend, Nawab Adnan Abbasi IV built a palace for his wife; however, she stayed in the court for only one night. She accidentally saw the graves near that palace and refused to spend any more time there. So, the palace remained unused till today.

Due to the lack of publicity, Noor Mahal is one of Bahawalpur’s hidden gems. Pakistani army possesses this place and is open to the public. Moreover, the government uses this palace to hold meetings with delegations coming from abroad.

Darbar Mahal

Darbar Mahal is one of the most stunning royal palaces in the city of Bahawalpur. This drift was especially gifted by Bahawal Khan to his wife and was fully built in 1905. In 1971, it was not open as a public space as the palace was leased to the armed forces and government. 

Gulzar Mahal

This palace distinguishes being the first building in Bahawalpur to hide electrical wires and was specifically ordered or gifted by Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan IV. Similar to Nur Mahal, its architecture has distinct European influences and is well worth a visit.

Abbassi Mosque

One of the most exquisitely beautiful mosques of Pakistan is Abbasi Mosque, located in Bahawalpur. Bahawal Khan built this mosque in 1849 from the highest quality and finest types of marble.

Lal Sohanra National Park

Lal Sohanra is a national park of Pakistan located in the Bahawalpur region of the Punjab province and is considered one of the largest national parks in South Asia. Lal Sohanra stretches over 153,000 acres and is known for its varied landscapes, including forest, water bodies, and desert.
